CSU Health Science Building dedication on March 16

What:

Charleston Southern University will host a dedication for the new Health Science Building. The 28,362-square-foot building meets the needs of Charleston Southern’s expanding undergraduate and graduate degree programs in healthcare. The $11 million facility houses the university’s new Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies Program. The inaugural Physician Assistant class began studies in January 2018.

To meet the growing need for healthcare professionals in the Lowcountry, the building will also support the new Master of Science in Biology program as well as the future Physical Therapy program planned for January 2020.

The technology-rich Health Science Building includes:

  • Cadaver Lab for Gross Anatomy coursework
  • Simulation Lab with three high-fidelity patient simulators and a 3D virtual cadaver
  • Dry Skills Lab where students will learn to perform physical exams
  • Five clinical exam rooms for simulating patient care experience
  • Debriefing rooms for problem-based learning
