Dr. Margaret MacDowell Receives Trident Medical Center Humanitarian Award

North Charleston, SC (April 17, 2017) – Radiation oncologist Margaret MacDowell, MD is the recipient of Trident Medical Center’s 2016 Physician Frist Humanitarian Award. The award is named after Dr. Thomas F. Frist, Sr., a founder of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). Trident Medical Center is among HCA’s more than 165 hospitals in the United States.

Colleagues and staff recognized Dr. MacDowell’s unwavering commitment to delivering excellent patient care and for also understanding the emotional toll a cancer diagnosis has on patients.

Dr. MacDowell is affiliated with Radiation Oncology Associates of Charleston and has served at Trident Health since 1993 and has played an important role in the development of Trident Cancer Center over the past two decades. While she treats many kinds of cancer with radiation therapy, Dr. MacDowell’s specialties include targeting breast cancer. She received her doctorate of medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina and is board-certified in radiation oncology.
