K&L Gates’ Charleston Office Welcomes New Associates

CHARLESTON, SC — K&L Gates’ Charleston office is pleased to welcome four associates who have recently joined the firm.

Ms. Lauren McFadden joined the Charleston office as an associate in the firm’s Corporate/M&A practice group.

Ms. McFadden previously worked as an associate in the finance group of a global law firm in New York, where her practice focused on international capital markets and banking transactions. Ms. McFadden advised both underwriters and issuers from a diverse range of industries, on SEC-registered and exempt equity and debt offerings and liability management transactions, as well as borrowers and lenders on a variety of cross-border finance transactions. She received her BA (summa cum laude) from the University of Georgia Honors College and her JD from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Ms. Laura Musselman joined the Charleston office as an associate in the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation and Disputes practice group.

Ms. Musselman previously worked as an associate at a global law firm in Washington, D.C., where she conducted complex Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, False Claims Act and healthcare investigations. She has experience representing companies and individuals before the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board in connection with civil and criminal investigations. Ms. Musselman has represented clients in the hospitality, pharmaceutical, financial, aerospace, automotive, healthcare, accounting services, insurance, and education industries. She received her BS (summa cum laude) from the University of South Carolina Honors College and her JD from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Mr. John Whitney (Whit) McGreevy joined the Charleston office as an associate in the firm’s Labor, Employment and Workplace Safety practice group.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. McGreevy served as a law clerk to US District Court Judge the Honorable Patrick Michael Duffy. While clerking, he assisted Judge Duffy on a wide variety of civil and criminal matters, including trials, motion hearings and complex mediations. Mr. McGreevy also previously served as a summer law clerk in the legal department of an international manufacturing company in the automotive industry. Mr. McGreevy received his BA (cum laude) from Furman University and his JD (magna cum laude) from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was the Peer Review Editor of the South Carolina Law Review.

Mr. Reed deMent also joined the Charleston office and works as an associate in the firm’s Banking and Asset Finance practice group.

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Mr. deMent worked in China with a global technology brand, a domestic cultural consulting firm, and an international electronics manufacturing firm. He received his BA from Furman University and his joint JD and International MBA from the University of South Carolina School of Law and Darla Moore School of Business.
