Le Creuset’s boutique retail store on North Market Street in Charleston, SC, recently won a Citation Award in Interior Architecture from the South Carolina chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Designed by LS3P, this constrained 600 SF retail storefront is intended to be a rollout prototype to provide a sleek, contemporary display space for highlighting Le Creuset’s brightly colored cookware.

Custom millwork with hidden storage, streamlined service spaces, and integrated technology combine to create a highly efficient and appealing shopping experience. A comprehensive product display allows customers to make selections in the store, purchase on the spot, and ship items home. Like a Swiss watch, the space was designed with the utmost thought and detail. All millwork is portable, flexible, and compact for reconfiguring and allows a clutter-free display with maximum convenience and adaptability.

The award was presented at an annual Design Awards Celebration at The Bean Market in Lake City, SC on April 19 as part of the AIASC Annual Design Conference.
