Local Author Releases Second Book: Book Signing for Cold War Thriller on October 28 at Meyer Vogl Gallery

CHARLESTON, SC (October 23, 2017) — Local Charleston author, Michael Ferrara, will celebrate the release of his second novel, The Sons of Lubyanka, on Saturday, October 28 with a meet & greet and book signing at Meyer Vogl Gallery. From noon - 4p.m. the author will be on-site to meet readers and sign copies of the new book.

In this Cold War thriller, five American soldiers have been brainwashed by Russia to act as double agents. Colonel Brick Autry knows that there are five ticking time bombs out there, but he has no clue when or where they will go off.

Autry, introduced in Michael Ferrara’s first novel, The Land of the Million Elephants, is still recovering from the trauma he suffered in the jungles of Vietnam when he was powerless to save his best friend. To cope, the military man throws himself into his work on the National Security Council. He is one of the first to discover the dangerous double agents. And the United States isn’t the only superpower worried about the spies. One of these “Sons of Lubyanka” has turned rogue and is threatening to take down both America and Russia in his insane schemes.

As Autry chases the Sons through the Middle East and Western Europe, he discovers a shocking secret about their true plans. Can he face his own demons in time to save the world?

The book signing at Meyer Vogl Gallery coincides with Marissa Vogl’s new solo show, Second Nature. The exhibition gives viewers a glimpse into the creative process Vogl experiences in her studio when she paints in two different styles simultaneously: landscapes and abstract.

The event is open to the public. Meyer Vogl Gallery is located at 122 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC.
