Local firm offering free marketing services to Lowcountry nonprofits

Charleston, SC – TRIO, a Mount Pleasant-based marketing communications agency, will work for 24-hours to provide free advertising and marketing services to nonprofits in the Lowcountry for its 12th annual CreateAthon on Thursday, October 25.

CreateAthon is a 24-hour creative marathon where TRIO provides pro-bono marketing services to organizations in need from 8 a.m. Thursday to 8 a.m. Friday. CreateAthon was started by Riggs Partners in Columbia and has since delivered more than $24 million worth of services to nonprofits. This year, CreateAthon is on a mission to deliver $100 million in pro-bono marketing services.

As the official CreateAthon agency for the Lowcountry, TRIO will be accepting applications from Monday, June 18 until Friday, August 17. Applicants are required to fill out a form and submit a 60-second video on why their organization should be selected. Applications can be found on the company’s website at trio-solutions.com/createathon.

“There are so many wonderful nonprofits in our area who need marketing help,” says Jenny Dennis, TRIO’s chief operating officer. “Unfortunately, a lot of these organizations struggle with having enough funding to invest in their marketing support. That’s where CreateAthon can help.”

Up to four organizations will be selected to take part in TRIO’s CreateAthon. An additional “People’s Choice” organization will also be chosen through TRIO’s social media, beginning September 9. The final “People’s Choice” winner, along with the four other selected organizations, will be announced on September 15.

Selected organizations may receive services that include marketing and fundraising plans, logos, websites, postcards, banners, brand identity packages, website assessments and social media plans. Project scopes will vary based on the capacity of the TRIO team as well as the specific needs of the organizations.
