Mount Pleasant Towne Centre Announces Southern Tide Signature Store

M. Dumas & Sons to open Mount Pleasant location representing lifestyle and apparel brand

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (April 10, 2018) – Mount Pleasant Towne Centre today announced that M. Dumas & Sons is set to open its first Mount Pleasant location representing Southern Tide, the high-quality, classic Southern style clothing brand, on Belk Drive at Towne Centre later this spring.

The Southern Tide Signature Store, which will be owned and operated by M. Dumas & Sons, will be located next to Gap and LOFT. The 2,014-square-foot store will offer a wide variety of men’s, women’s and children’s apparel, including polos, sport shirts, shorts and pants. Founded in 2006, Southern Tide was created to bring about the perfect polo by taking all the modern design elements of today’s youthful trends and tying them in with the brand’s love for old southern culture and lifestyle. Southern Tide is a brand that stands for craftsmanship, clean lines, classic design and rich heritage.

“Being an integral part of our community for 101 years has been amazing and humbling for M. Dumas & Sons. We have seen the growth in Mount Pleasant over the last 10 years and feel like now is the time to open our second location. Partnering with Southern Tide on this makes it even more exciting for us. The Southern Tide brand and its people have been terrific partners with us and we look forward to growing our partnership in this new Southern Tide Signature Store in Towne Centre” said Gary Flynn, Part-Owner, CEO and President of M. Dumas and Sons. “Ideally, we want to make it easier for our Mount Pleasant, Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island and Daniel Island customers to shop with us. We look forward to serving you in the very near future in our new home at Towne Centre or in our existing home at the corner of King and Society.”

This will be the second location for M. Dumas & Sons who has owned and operated its King Street store since 1917. Southern Tide is available in more than 850 specialty retailers and premium department stores in more than 45 states across the United States with 2 signature stores in South Carolina in Kiawah Island and Greenville.

“We as a brand are thrilled to be working with such a well-known and respected retailer such as M. Dumas & Sons to open Southern Tide’s first signature store in Mount Pleasant,” said Southern Tide CEO, Christopher Heyn. “Their tradition of excellence aligns perfectly with Southern Tide’s drive for innovation and we can’t wait to see how the community embraces this signature store.”

“With Southern Tide’s coastal brand heritage and our proximity to Isle of Palms, what better location to bring its signature brand than Mount Pleasant Towne Centre,” said Kathi Herrmann, marketing director of Mount Pleasant Towne Centre. “The combination of the Southern Tide lifestyle brand with the long, successful history of M. Dumas & Sons in the Charleston area is the perfect addition to the Towne Centre retailer mix.”
