Palmetto Digestive Health Specialists Welcome Dr. Derek Feussner and Dr. Alejandro Suarez

Dr. Derek Feussner and Dr. Alejandro Suarez have joined Palmetto Digestive Health Specialists and began seeing patients August 1, 2018.

Dr. Derek Feussner graduated from Porter-Gaud High School, attended Vanderbilt University and earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Dr. Feussner completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at MUSC. Dr. Feussner practices at the West Ashley, Mt. Pleasant and Summerville locations.

Dr. Alejandro Suarez graduated from Barry University and earned his medical degree from Saint George’s University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida and his general Gastroenterology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Upon completing his advanced endoscopy fellowship at Yale University, Dr. Suarez joined the Yale faculty maintaining an appointment as Assistant Professor Adjunct. Dr. Suarez is fluent in Spanish and practices at the West Ashley, Mt. Pleasant, Summerville and Moncks Corner locations.

Palmetto Digestive Health Specialists have provided outstanding patient care for over 23 years and have office locations in West Ashley, Summerville, Moncks Corner and Mount Pleasant. The Physicians of Palmetto Digestive Health Specialists maintain the highest levels of accreditation and pursue ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest trends in digestive health and gastroenterology. In May 2018, they received Level 3 Patient Centered Specialty Practice Recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) after undergoing a rigorous, independent review to assess their capabilities and commitment to excellence in sharing and using information to coordinate care that is centered around the patient.
