SeamonWhiteside announces 6 new shareholders

CHARLESTON, S.C. - SeamonWhiteside (SW+) is pleased to announce six new shareholders to the leadership team of the 31-year-old civil engineering and landscape architecture company.

Nearly two years ago, founding principals Kenny Seamon and Stuart Whiteside, started discussing what kind of ownership would be best for SeamonWhiteside. Those initial discussions began laying the ground work on a plan that would support their original vision for SeamonWhiteside and support what the company can become.

As of October 2016, the first step of that transition was finalized when the following individuals became shareholders of SW+.

Joe Bryant, Managing Principal, Greenville
Gary Collins, Director of Client Services
Jason Munday, Civil Engineering Division Head
William O'Neal, Civil Engineer Division Head
Buddy Pusser, Civil Engineering Division Head
Russ Seamon, Director, Landscape Architecture

Combined, these six individuals share 90 years of profession experience, and 63 years of employment at SW+.

"Kenny and I worked diligently to develop a smart succession plan that would provide ownership opportunities to our employees," said principal Stuart Whiteside. "The new shareholders embody the company's spirit and drive to succeed."

Stuart Whiteside will remain the principal in charge and majority shareholder but is excited to share some of his responsibilities with the new shareholders.

Russ Seamon, Director at SeamonWhiteside and son of late Kenny Seamon said, "It was truly remarkable watching Stuart and my dad mold and shape this company into what it is today. I know he would be very proud with the direction SeamonWhiteside is going and excited for the future.”

"My dad and Stuart have established a tradition of treating our people and our clients like family. I am honored to be carrying that tradition forward with this group of leaders,” remarks Seamon.
