Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SSC) Atlantic announced the selection of Ms. Kathryn Murphy as the Senior Science Technology Manager (SSTM) for Software Engineering at SSC Atlantic. Prior to this selection Murphy served as the Competency Manager for Computer Applications, Services, Integration. In her new role, Murphy will lead the strategic growth and development of the workforce to include research and development, prototyping, systems integration, and test and evaluation of complex software engineering projects supporting naval systems. Murphy has a proven track record with more than 30 years of extensive management and technical leadership roles in government and private industry positions. Murphy’s technical leadership will greatly benefit SSC Atlantic 's workforce as a whole while also enhancing the quality of SSC Atlantic products and services; ultimately resulting in better warfighting capabilities at a reduced cost for the taxpayer.
SSC Atlantic provides systems engineering and acquisition to deliver capabilities to the Naval, Joint and National Warfighter through the acquisition, development, integration, production, test , deployment, and sustainment of interoperable Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (C4ISR), Cyber and Information Technology (IT) capabilities that enable Information Warfare for national defense and perform other functions as directed by higher authority.
