CHARLESTON, SC – Mark Joye of Joye Law Firm was installed as the 2024-2025 Charleston County Bar Association (CCBA) president on Feb. 22, along with three other officers and ten executive committee members. The installation ceremony was held at the CCBA’s annual meeting at the Francis Marion Hotel.

The size of the CCBA has grown tremendously over the past several years, so during his tenure as president, Joye plans to support the reconnection and professional growth of CCBA members through in-person social events, charitable projects, and continuing education seminars. “It is challenging to reach out to and engage all our members, but we certainly try to do just that,” said Joye. “We will upgrade our Instagram account to better communicate with our members and show others what we have done to improve our legal community and beyond.”

Joye also plans to connect with younger and older attorneys with targeted events. “We want to engage our newer attorneys and those who have practiced more than 50 years. Both groups are important members of our organization, and we want to show them that we appreciate them and are here to support them,” said Joye.

The incoming Charleston County Bar Association officers and members of the executive committee for 2024-2025 are:

Officers
President – Mark Joye, Joye Law Firm
President-Elect – Ravi Sanyal, Sanyal Law Firm LLC
Secretary/Treasurer – Mary Lee Briggs, Ramsdale Law Firm
Immediate Past President – Andrew Connor, Connor Law Firm

Executive Committee

Joseph Kaiser, Kaiser Law Firm LLC
Lana Kleiman, Charleston Legal Access
W. Greyson Land, Parker Poe
John P. Linton Jr., Walker Gressette Linton LLC
Daniel Martin III, Charleston County Solicitor’s Office

In addition to installing the upcoming year’s leadership team at the annual meeting, the CCBA recognized those attorneys who have served in the legal profession for more than 50 years, welcomed the new members of the association, and eulogized those members of the CCBA who died in 2023.
