CHARLESTON, S.C. – March 12, 2018 – The Gadsden, a new luxury condominium community opening soon in historic downtown Charleston, is launching a speaker series designed to offer participants a true “insiders view” of this historic, evolving city.
Field Notes, the reoccurring series that offers behind-the-scenes glimpses of Charleston, will invite the public to gather with local experts to learn about the city’s history, culture and future. The first speaker will be Hanna Raskin, food editor and critic of The Post and Courier with more speakers to be announced.
Community building is a cornerstone of The Gadsden project and this series is just one of many programs in the works. “We are attracting very engaged, excited residents who want to create and immerse themselves in community,” said Miller Harper, partner in charge in South Carolina for East West Partners, The Gadsden’s developers. “Field Notes is our way of honoring aspects of the city that make it unique, and creating connections between our residents and their new neighbors all over town.”
Events will be priced at $5 per person, and open to the public; all funds collected through the series’ ticket sales will be donated to charities. The specific schedule is as follows:
· Hanna Raskin will speak about Charleston’s culinary scene, and sign copies of her book, New Charleston Cuisine, at 5:30 p.m. on March 22 at 299 East Bay Street. The event will start at 6 p.m. and guests can RSVP here: fieldnotes.eventbrite.com. Ticket sale proceeds will be donated to GrowFood Carolina.
The Gadsden is the latest project by East West Partners, and will bring 76 luxury 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom condominiums to the vibrant Gadsdenboro neighborhood. Prices range from the low $400,000s to $1.3 million. The same company developed the successful Tides IV and One Vendue.
