Founders Tap Established, Emerging and Local Brands for Their “Collective” Concept
Charleston, SC - The Skinny Dip, a collective concept store housing a wellcurated mix of men’s, women’s and lifestyle brands, is launching its second retail location in Charleston on April 1st, complete with a wine and coffee bar. Located at 345 King Street, this indoor / outdoor space will be the brand’s first year-round location following a successful launch of their seasonal store, The Skinny Dip: A Summer Collective, in Nantucket, MA.
Friends first, Sara Rossi and Taylor Ivey co-founded The Skinny Dip as a way to showcase their own NYC based fashion brands, Beau & Ro Bag Company and Ellsworth and Ivey, respectively, alongside complementary brands from around the country, with a strong focus on the stories behind why each brand was selected and also experiential elements and on-going events that make The Skinny Dip more than just a destination to shop.
With two floors and approximately 4,000 square feet, the King Street location will feature both established and emerging brands as well as a dedicated area for local Charleston makers. Alongside Beau & Ro Bag Company and Ellsworth and Ivey, the first floor will house women’s and men’s clothing brands including Orlebar Brown, Kiel James Patrick, Southern Tide, Sail to Sable, Bald Head Blues, Grayers, Artemis Design Co., Mott50 and many more.
On the second floor, the guests can shop The Living Room, an interior lifestyle space designed by Society Social, which will also feature Local Vibes, a section dedicated to local artists, designers and artisans, including a hat collection by Shep Rose of Southern Charm. Patrons can also sit outside on the stunning patio with a latte in a custom mug designed by Ashley Brooke Designs or sip a glass of rosé at the 20-foot bar from Rudi's Caffe e Vino, a Mt. Pleasant favorite, that will be opening a coffee and wine bar on the second floor.
The store will channel the look and feel of its sister location that sits on the docks in Nantucket with white shiplap walls and nautical details. A rowboat on the store’s ceiling will be an eyecatching installation by New England favorite Kiel James Patrick. Like the Nantucket shop, The Skinny Dip will also be a gathering spot for events—from yoga classes to wine tastings, trunk shows to jewelry making workshops, and seminars to flower arranging classes. An ongoing events calendar will make The Skinny Dip a place that inspires and connects the community.
The Skinny Dip Charleston Edition will be open on April 1st, followed by an opening celebration on Sunday, April 9th.
