Leadership Positions Include Ties to the South Carolina Lowcountry
Charleston, SC (February 12, 2018) – Trident Medical Center announces Scott Weiskittel will join the hospital as its new Chief Operating Officer on March 12. Weiskittel brings with him a wide breadth of operational experience and a connection to South Carolina’s Lowcountry.
Weiskittel is a physical therapist by training, but spent the last seven years in hospital executive positions. Most recently he served as Chief Operating Officer for Community Health System’s 396-bed Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. His experience also includes physical medicine and rehabilitation leadership positions at HCA Healthcare hospitals Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, SC and Stonecrest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN.
Weiskittel has gained valuable leadership skills working in markets in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and South Carolina over the past 15 years. He has extensive experience in leading hospital service lines to better meet the needs of patients; collaborating with other healthcare providers; and helping to meet the healthcare needs in the communities he has served. He is also recognized for helping the hospitals where he’s worked earn numerous quality certifications and designations including several from The Joint Commission.
He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Weiskittel earned his Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from Widener University’s Institute for Physical Therapy Education and earned his Bachelor Degree in Biology from the University of Virginia.
Weiskittel and his wife, Holli, are the parents of three children, with the first one being born at Trident Medical Center. He’s an avid runner who enjoys giving back through volunteering. Examples of his community service have included membership with Meals on Wheels, Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce.
