Walterboro Resident Named Top UniFirst Route Representative in North America

CHARLESTON, S.C.—It is the most coveted of all UniFirst Corporation recognitions. Out of the thousands of UniFirst route sales representatives (RSRs) in the U.S. and Canada, only 13 have earned this distinction for 2017—and one of them hails from Walterboro. Named after UniFirst’s founder, the Aldo Croatti Award is presented to those RSRs who exemplify unparalleled customer service while retaining 100% of their business customers for an entire fiscal year. Doug Robinson is one such person.

Robinson, who has been with UniFirst for five years, delivers work uniforms and facility service products to 101 businesses on a weekly basis throughout greater Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, and surrounding areas.

Headquartered in Wilmington, Mass., UniFirst Corporation (NYSE: UNF) is a leading provider of customized work uniform programs, corporate attire, and facility service products to businesses throughout the U.S. and Canada. Together with its subsidiaries, UniFirst also provides first-aid and safety products, and manages specialized garment programs for the cleanroom and nuclear industries.

“Doug is one of the best RSRs I’ve worked with in over 29 years,” says UniFirst general manager James Wells. “He acts as a role model for the entire service team, his customers love him, and he always takes the extra time to make sure they are satisfied. I’m extremely proud of him for being the first recipient from the Charleston location to receive the Aldo Croatti Award.”

Robinson resides in Walterboro with his wife, Tracy, and his daughters, Payton and Allyson. He likes hunting and fishing, and is an avid Clemson Tigers fan.

He attributes winning the award to providing good customer service. “I was able to achieve this award through my hard work, being honest and upfront with my customers, and going above and beyond to provide the best service day in and day out,” says Robinson. “I want to not only thank my customers, but also my fellow Team Partners at UniFirst who helped me obtain this great honor.”

As part of his award, Robinson will receive an all-expenses-paid luxury vacation for two in November 2017 to the JW Marriott Los Cabos Beach Resort and Spa in Mexico, where he will be personally recognized by UniFirst president and CEO Steven Sintros and other company executives. Each winner will also drive away with a brand new UniFirst delivery truck adorned with an award insignia recognizing them as a superior customer service provider.
