Charleston, SC – Amanda Hawkins, BSN RN CASC CAIP, Director of The Surgery Center of Charleston was elected to the board of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. Founded in 2008, The Ambulatory Surgery Center Association is the national membership association that represents ambulatory surgery centers and provides advocacy and resources to assist members in delivering high-quality, cost-effective ambulatory surgery to all the patients they serve.
Amanda has been with Charleston ENT & Allergy since 2010. She has over 19 years nursing experience in ENT, intensive care, emergency room, operating room, recovery, and interventional radiology. She graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a BS in Nursing where she also competed as an NCAA Gymnast. Hawkins serves on the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association National Strategic Planning Committee, South Carolina Ambulatory Surgery Center Association Education Committee, and is the Secretary on the Executive Committee for DHEC LowCountry Emergency Preparedness Coalition. She is married to David Hawkins, Jr and the couple have one daughter, Georgia.
Led by Amanda Hawkins and physician medical director, Dr. Michael Noone, The Surgery Center of Charleston is an independent, accredited surgical facility. The Center provides the highest quality outpatient surgical services and pre/post-operative care, while controlling costs and focusing on patient convenience. The facility was specifically designed for outpatient surgery and has been staffed and supplied with all equipment and personnel necessary to meet the needs of children and adults requiring surgery and general anesthesia along with pediatric board-certified anesthesiologists. Located at 1849 Savage Road in West Ashley, the Surgery Center of Charleston is owned and operated by Charleston ENT & Allergy and is also the surgery center for Charleston Plastic Surgery.
The Surgery Center of Charleston is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare (AAAHC) and, earlier, by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). Our Operating Rooms meet or exceed the same rigorous standards imposed on major hospitals.
