Dear Friends of Respite Care Charleston,
The RCC Board of Directors is excited to announce the selection of Sara Perry as our new Executive Director following Jennifer Hartig's resignation from this position. We’re grateful to Jennifer for her 18 months as Executive Director, and she has agreed to work closely with Sara to ensure a smooth transition while also providing continuing support to the families of RCC.
Sara brings to the organization more than 16 years of professional experience in the non-profit/public sector, including extensive work in development and administration. Most recently, Sara served as Associate Vice President of Development at the Carolina Youth Development Center, where she secured more than $1.15 million in grant funding to sustain and expand programs for youth in foster care. She previously held positions with the Tri-County Cradle to Career Collaborative, the College of Charleston, and the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors.
Sara holds an undergraduate degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Winthrop University, a Master’s in Public Administration from the College of Charleston, and certification from the US Chamber of Commerce's Institute of Organization Management. She is a graduate of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce "Leadership Charleston" program and was named one of the Charleston Regional Business Journal's "Forty Under 40" in 2016. A proud mother of two active teenagers, in her spare time Sara is an avid sailor and mentor for several older youth in foster care.
Please join us in welcoming Sara (Sara@RespiteCareCharleston.org) and feel free to contact any member of the Board with questions or comments!
