The notorious tales of Charleston ghosts are brought to life in an all-new thrilling ballet, “Dance Macabre”. The dancers of Ballet Evolution will embody some of the Lowcountry’s most infamous spirits. There’s Madame Talvande, who ran her strict and rigid school for girls at the Sword-Gates House on Legare Street; and Lavinia Fisher, the deranged motel owner who poisoned her guests and was eventually hanged for her crimes in the Old City Jail. Join us as these stories, and more, are brought from the graveyards to the stage in this chilling new ballet. Musical selections by Franz Schubert, Camille Saint-Saëns, and Felix Mendelssohn will serve as a haunting score to the stories of the past. Performances at College of Charleston Sottile Theatre. Saturday 10/20 at 7:30 pm and Sunday 10/21 at 3:00 pm. Tickets $20-$50 at balletevolution.org
