Berkeley Chamber Hosts Cybersecurity Program

(BERKELEY COUNTY, SC) — Business owners and employees are invited to attend Berkeley Chamber of Commerce’s Cybersecurity Preparedness session on Tuesday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m., at SCRA – Applied Technologies Center in Summerville, SC. With cyberattacks on the rise, everyone is concerned about protecting their personal and business information. In 2021 alone, 37 percent of all businesses and organizations were hit by ransomware and 60 percent of cyberattacks affected small businesses. Along with there being an increase in the amount of cyberattacks on business, the dollar figure for ransom has also grown exponentially.

This program is geared to help small and large business leaders identify and learn how to protect their information, mitigate cybersecurity risks, and identify and prepare for potential threats. Attendees will hear from industry expert, Mr. Clint Walker, Cyber Protection Advisor, SC Law Enforcement Division, as he shares updates on cybersecurity readiness, and tools to identify, prevent, and respond to cyber threats. Sponsored by Bayer Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union and First National Bank of South Carolina. The objective is to educate and provide individuals with measures they can take to protect against potential cyber-attacks and threats.

The event is open to all businesses. Space is limited and reservations are required. For additional information or to register to attend, contact the Berkeley Chamber at 843-761-8238 or 843-577-9549 or visit us online at https://berkeleysc.org.
