Bodega Debuts a Fresh New Menu

Starting August 24, Charleston’s favorite breakfast sandwich spot, Bodega, is home to all things brunch, thanks to the launch of a new, expanded menu. Originally known for its menu of colossal, Manhattan-style breakfast sandwiches, Bodega started as a weekend breakfast pop-up out of fellow Uptown Hospitality Group concept Uptown Social before quickly gaining popularity and opening a storefront of its own in 2022. Now, executive chef Alec Gropman brings a full suite of playful and creative breakfast items with a colorful drink menu to match.

While the mainstay breakfast sandwich offerings will not be going anywhere, Bodega’s new menu adds a fresh variety of benedicts, pancakes, salads, bowls and toasts to satisfy any brunch and lunch craving.

“Bodega’s new, expanded menu feels exactly what our guests are looking for when they make plans to eat out during the day,” says executive chef Alec Gropman. “It was fun to get creative, with drinks like a Pickle Martini and The Candy Shoppe pancakes, and to be able to add healthier, lighter staples, too. There is something for everyone to enjoy, whether it’s for a long boozy brunch or a quick sandwich lunch.”

Highlights of the new menu include items like:
• Eggs Benedict - Offering Traditional Taylor Ham, Smoked Salmon, Pastrami or Avocado
• The Candy Shoppe - Chocolate Chip Pancakes, Whipped Cream, Chocolate Sauce, The Candy Shelf (assortment of candy like M&Ms, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Hershey's Chocolate Bars)
• The Farmer's Market - Quinoa, Smoked Salmon, Cucumber, Avocado, Tomatoes, Everything Bagel Seasoning, Lemon Vinaigrette
• Breakfast Martinis – Choose from creative cocktails like the Vitamin C Martini with Tanqueray Gin, Grand Marnier, Lemon Juice, Orange Marmalade or the Cookies & Cream Martini with Pearl Vanilla Vodka, Chocolate Bitters, White Chocolate Ganache, Half & Half, Oreo Sidecar
• Signature Bodega Cocktails – Enjoy Bodega classics with a twist, like a Bloody Mary with the option to make it “Flamin’ Hot” and Signature Mimosas available in Passionfruit-Mango, Strawberry and Grapefruit

In addition to the new menu launch, Uptown Hospitality Group will open a second Bodega location later this winter at 414 Coleman Blvd. in Mount Pleasant, offering the brunch-focused mains curated by Bodega executive chef Alec Gropman.
