Brad Mitchell joined the Dorchester County Team as the Deputy County Attorney on Monday, August 27, 2018.
Mr. Mitchell is a certified Circuit Court mediator with a strong track record as an eminent domain, real estate, and property tax attorney, specializing in eminent domain and inverse condemnation actions.
Prior to joining the Dorchester County team, Mr. Mitchell practiced with Hinchey, Murray & Pagliarini, LLC and served as an Assistant County Attorney for Charleston County for seven years.
During his tenor with Charleston County, Mr. Mitchell represented the County in several major road improvement projects, code enforcement actions, prosecuted criminal matters in Magistrates Court, and supported the Public Works, Transportation Authority, and the Planning & Zoning Departments.
Mr. Mitchell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, Biology and Marine Biology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from the College of Charleston and a Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law. Prior to his undergraduate studies, Mitchell served in the US Army as a forward observer and continued his military career in the SC National Guard as a scout, retiring from service in 2009.
