MONCKS CORNER, S.C. - (December 11, 2018) - Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis announced today the promotion of Willie Hickman to Major at the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office. This promotion is effective immediately.
When the Sheriff made the announcement, Major Hickman said, “I’m ready to get to work!”
Major Hickman will oversee patrol and judicial services.
Major Hickman has been in law enforcement for 20 years. He was a Captain at BCSO, assigned as the Division Commander of the Patrol Division, K-9 and Target 0 Unit.
Major Hickman holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, in Criminal Justice, from Strayer University, North Charleston, SC, where he graduated with Honors. In March 2016, Major Hickman completed the Federal Bureau of Investigation, (FBI) Command College. Major Hickman formerly served as the Assistant Chief of Police at the St. Stephen Police Department.
Major Hickman is married to Cheretha Kinlaw-Hickman and they are the proud parents of four children. Major Hickman is a member of New Life Christian Fellowship Church, Goose Creek, SC.
