CHARLESTON, SC – Advantage Media (www.advantagefamily.com), The Authority Marketing™ Company, has announced the hiring of two new executives.
Dee Kerr has been named Advantage’s Global Chief Revenue Officer. Neil Mahoney has been named the new President of MLive, an Advantage subsidiary that provides marketing software specifically designed to help dentists attract new, more and better patients.
Kerr and Mahoney come with a wealth of experience and skills that will greatly benefit Advantage as the company continues to grow, says Adam Witty, Founder and CEO of Advantage.
“For the last 30 years Dee has worked in sales and sales management, and she brings an unparalleled level of enthusiasm and positivity to our organization,” Witty says. “Meanwhile, Neil has a track record of success having worked with two software-as-a-service businesses that he was able to help scale significantly, and which provided marketing automated software to healthcare practices.”
Prior to joining Advantage, Kerr was the Vice President of Commercial Operations at SummerBio, a start-up company that emerged during the pandemic to assist students, teachers and employees return to work safely with affordable COVID-19 testing options.
Among other previous positions, Kerr was General Manager of Oral Health Programs at Carbon, a 3D printing technology company. She also successfully developed and operated her own company, STEAMtrax, which integrated K-12 digital engineering concepts and projects with 3D printing technology. Earlier in her career, she worked for such companies as Bausch & Lomb, Johnson & Johnson and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Kerr holds a B.S. in exercise physiology from SUNY Brockport and studied chemistry at the University of Rochester.
Mahoney most recently was Chief Operating Officer for Zingit.com, a patient engagement and marketing platform helping specialty medicine practices attract new patients. Prior to that, he was General Manager of SIM Partners, a marketing business he helped found that focuses on improving communication with local markets. SIM Partners was acquired by Reputation.com in 2018. Mahoney has a B.S. in finance and international business from the University of Louisville.
With his experience with startups, Mahoney says one of the things that intrigued him about mLive is that the company is essentially a startup within a larger company.
“What I’ve realized is that I most enjoyed the early days of my original company, which was a true startup environment,” he says. “I always thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool to do that over again, but with the benefit of hindsight?’”
