Charleston Beer Fest to Serve Up Mid-Summer Virtual Gathering

What could be more refreshing on a hot, humid summer day than a crisp, refreshing, light beer… festival? That’s the idea behind the Virtual Charleston Beer Fest planned for Thursday, July 16 at 6 p.m. Hosted by Yelp, and featuring local suds-lebrities, the festival will feature local breweries, crafters and others to share insights and trends in the ever-expanding world of beer culture.

Attendance is free, and easy: just tune into the festival’s Instagram account @chsbeerfest. Do that ahead of time, and plan to procure a special collection of beers that will be tasted and discussed on the forum. The Brew Cellar in Park Circle will be selling a curated six-pack that will include beers from 2-3 participating breweries for this inaugural event. The beers will be available for purchase from July 13-16.

Organizers note that the in-person Charleston Beer Fest is still planned for the fall (Saturday, September 26); the Virtual Charleston Beer Fest is designed as a “little sip” in advance of the all-day session. Palmetto Community Care, an organization supporting those living with HIV, hosts Charleston Beer Fest as one of its fundraisers.
