CHARLESTON, SC—Charleston Home Watch has earned accreditation from the National Home Watch Association for the second year. The NHWA was formed in 2009 in order to establish and maintain the highest industry standards for Home Watch and absentee homeowner services throughout the United States and Canada (www.nationalhomewatchassociation.org). Home Watch is a visual inspection of a home or property, looking for obvious issues, which means that it is a service that “keeps an eye on things” at your vacation or primary home while you are not in residence.
Owner Karen Rapchick has lived in Charleston most of her life and owned several businesses in the Lowcountry. She is a licensed real estate broker with over 15 years of residential real estate experience. Throughout her real estate career, Karen has assisted buyers in purchasing vacation/second homes in the Charleston area and fully understands the stress and challenges that can stem from owning a home and not being a full-time resident there.
Karen started out helping a few neighbors and friends by checking up on their homes and realized that there was a demand for Home Watch services in the Lowcountry. She has seen what can and will go wrong at a house that is unoccupied for extended periods of time and knows the problems that can arise from unattended properties. Karen is a proud member of the National Home Watch Association and brings an extensive network of trades people to assist in her clients’ needs.
Karen has earned the designation of Certified Home Watch Professional and has graduated from the NHWA’s Home Watch Boot Camp, making her one of the top Home Watch providers in the industry. The CHWP designation and Home Watch Boot Camp training show Karen’s commitment to providing excellent service to her clients.
