Chris Hanson joins The Jewell Agency as Senior Account Manager in Charleston

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (November 30, 2018) – The Jewell Agency has announced that Chris Hanson is joining its team to help lead business development/account services in the Charleston, S.C. area. Having worked in television, film and other media platforms for 20 years, Hanson brings new bench strength to an award-winning agency best known for working with a wide variety of clients in Charlotte and beyond.

Hanson launched his career as feature film director and producer on the films “Scrapple” and Widespread Panic’s “The Earth Will Swallow You.” He previously worked as general manager for Plum TV in Telluride, Co. overseeing the on-air content, station advertising sales and marketing. He worked in reality TV production for A&E, BRAVO, The History Channel, and CBS, and also founded Hanson Media House in Charleston, a digital video and film production firm specializing in media content for television, the web and multiple media platforms. In addition to being a writer, producer, director, shooter and editor, Hanson is currently director of the Telluride film festival spin-off “Mountainfilm On Tour,” coming to the Charleston Music Hall in February 2019.

“Working at Plum TV forever changed my perspective on advertising and marketing,” Hanson said. “I’m a storyteller at heart and have spent my life crafting my skills in video and film. I see an amazing opportunity to bring that skill set to The Jewell Agency, telling client stories, reaching receptive audiences with relevant content, and helping our clients’ businesses grow.”

“Chris has won two Emmys which attest to the caliber of his ideas and ability to execute them in extremely compelling ways,” said TJA President David Jewell. “Chris is someone highly capable of driving growth for our clients by building authentic, long-term relationships . We are impressed by his extensive knowledge of the creative processes, techniques and digital platforms. He is known for his big-picture thinking and ideas, as well as for the precise attention to detail that turns good ideas into successful campaigns. I think our existing and new clients will enjoy working with someone who has such a diverse advertising, marketing and PR skill set.”
