Cranston Leadership Changes Announced

CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA – Cranston Engineering, with offices in Charleston, Augusta, and Bluffton, is pleased to announce changes in the leadership team.

Scott Williams was recently elected by the Board of Directors as the new President of Cranston Engineering. Tom Robertson, after 34 years as president and overseeing growth in the company’s reputation, performance and influence, turned over the reins to Scott. Tom made the decision that it was time for new inspiration to lead the Cranston brand and vision into the next era to support ongoing transformation and future growth.

Scott is well positioned for this role. He started his career with Cranston in 2002 after his graduation from University of Georgia. He has risen quickly through the organization and has significantly grown the Municipal and Transportation teams. With clients he has a reputation as a skillful designer of complex projects with a strong sense of client requirements, budgets and schedules. With his staff, he provides mentorship and direction as is evidenced by the number of staff who have progressed from entry level to project management. In addition to performing the duties of President, Scott will also continue to lead the Transportation Design Group.

Tom will continue in the position of Vice-President and Chairman of the Board. He will assist with strategic efforts in business and market development as well as continuing to consult on design, forensic expertise, and planning projects.

In the Hilton Head office, Jake Eavenson has been promoted to Office Manager after skillfully performing the role in an interim capacity since last summer. Jake began his career with Cranston in 2014 after graduating from Georgia Institute of Technology and spending the early years of his career with Engineered Earth Solutions in Woodstock, Georgia. His areas of expertise include a wide range of projects including educational facilities, medical centers, recreational facilities and residential projects including seismic and coastal effects of high wind zone and flood loading.

The leadership transition in the Augusta office has opened the position of Municipal Design Group Manager which will be filled by Mitchell Murchison. Mitchell began his career with Cranston in 2006 following his graduation from Mercer University. Since that time, he has developed skill in a variety of projects and through experience in the Municipal and Development Design Groups. He has also gained leadership experience through successful project management of many high-profile projects.
