CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA – Pine Island, listed with the Charleston-based Huguley Team of Daniel Ravenel Sotheby's International Realty, has closed for $8M. The 56.1-acre private island in Okatie, South Carolina, is Daniel Ravenel Sotheby's International Realty's highest sale of the year and one of the firm's most talked-about listings. Pine Island is connected to the larger Spring Island by a causeway and is the private community's highest-recorded sale.

Photographs of the over 6,000-square-foot primary residence graced outlets such as Mansion Global and Barron's. Designed by architects William McDonough + Partners, a celebrated firm at the forefront of green architecture, the Japanese style-influenced home was built with materials like recycled red western cedar and cypress logs reclaimed from the depths of ponds and rivers. The massive property included several additional structures, and a deep-water dock, on Chechessee Creek, just a short distance from Port Royal Sound.

The complexity of the offering was a welcome challenge for listing agent Jack Huguley, "It was a pleasure to present this property at its finest. We knew with the right photography, staging, and marketing collateral, people would be enthralled with Pine Island - and they were."

Daniel Ravenel Sotheby's International Realty's affiliation with the powerful Sotheby's International Realty® brand propelled Pine Island into the global conversation, "The team at Sotheby's International Realty® put their weight behind this listing and gave it worldwide exposure." That exposure even garnered a coveted network and streaming segment on Mansion Global which airs during prime time on Fox Business channel.

Daniel Ravenel Sotheby's International Realty co-listed Pine Island with Spring Island Realty, the community's in-house firm. Spring Island's private club offers a full spectrum of amenities that include golf, tennis, pickleball, fitness, a quail hunting preserve, sporting clays, a community garden, equestrian facilities, dining, and security. The opportunity for membership in the club was a key selling factor for Pine Island, as Huguley noted, "Pine Island feels completely private while still being convenient to an elevated club experience."
