Davis & Floyd Welcomes Six Engineering Students For Cooperative and Internship Program

CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 8, 2017) — Davis & Floyd Inc. is pleased to welcome six engineering students to the firm’s summer 2017 co-op and internship program. The program, for civil engineering majors, provides students the opportunity to gain educational hands-on experience while exposing them to various engineering disciplines.

Davis & Floyd’s co-op program consists of three 16-week periods during the students’ junior and senior years. Participants are offered opportunities based on the firm’s workload and are placed where their education, talents and interests best match the staffing needs at the time of their participation.

“Our co-op and intern program was implemented to develop our next generation of engineers,” said Greg McElhannon, project manager and co-op program leader. “It allows serious engineering students the opportunity to experience real world engineering practices with the support of a full-time, on-site staff mentor, and it gives our firm a chance to observe and assess new talent that will soon be joining the job market.”

The summer participants are:

Charleston Office
• Matthew Barnes, Lancaster, S.C., Clemson University
• Hunt McLeod, Summerville, S.C., The Citadel
• Zach Reineke, Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Clemson University

Clemson University Campus
• David Hilton, Lancaster, S.C., Clemson University

Greenwood Office
• James Compton, Piedmont, S.C., Clemson University
