Deanna McBrearty Joins the Daniel Island Performing Arts Center

Daniel Island, SC - May 17, 2017 - Deanna McBrearty joins the Daniel Island Performing Arts Center as the Artistic Production Director of our resident dance program utilizing Dance Conservatory of Charleston to develop high caliber dance education and training. Deanna will also curate guest dance programming for Daniel Island PAC performances.

Deanna danced with New York City Ballet for twelve years and worked as Manager of External Affairs for another two. She has choreographed and performed with Columbia Pictures and Mattel and has written for a variety of dance magazines. She brings world-class level experience to the Daniel Island PAC and is actively advancing dance in Charleston. Deanna ‘s educational program currently offers opportunities for children and adults , beginners to advanced.

Deanna lives on Daniel Island where she and her husband Steve Parker Jr., co-founder of Levelwing, a digital advertising agency, are raising their two children. Since 2009 she has been an active participant in the dance culture in Charleston, coaching students into world renowned dance academies, teaching as adjunct professor at the College of Charleston, and taking an active role in bringing world-class companies like Complexions to the Charleston area to perform in the Spoleto Festival.
