We Are Family (WAF) is excited to host South Carolina’s only Youth Queer Prom on April 1 from 6-10 p.m. at Union Station. Since 2014, Youth Queer Prom has offered Charleston’s LGBTQI+ community a bespoke prom experience.
2023’s Queer Youth Prom’s theme is “The Sweetest Escape” and prom-goers will enjoy life-sized lollipops, gumdrop gardens, fluffy cotton candy and chocolate fountains. This event is designed to be a magical night for middle and high school students to be their authentic selves- to dance, celebrate and build community free from discrimination. To provide safety and comfort, security will be on-site and attendees will have a choice as to whether or not they want their picture taken.
Tickets for Queer Youth Prom are free and can be reserved here: http://bit.ly/3EJ2s8c. Attendees can learn more about the event here: http://bit.ly/3ZmRbCk and watch the highlights of 2022’s event here: https://bit.ly/3EIKuD1.
