Mt. Pleasant, SC — November 22, 2018 – East Cooper Medical Center is proud to donate more than 2,000 pounds of food to East Cooper Community Outreach with the help of staff, physicians and community donors.

“We started the food drive with a goal of 2,000 pounds in mind,” said Patrick Downes, CEO of East Cooper Medical Center. “Surpassing that goal and helping local citizens in need gives us all a great feeling throughout the entire hospital.”

“On behalf of ECCO, we truly appreciate the East Cooper Medical Center team for organizing this food drive,” said Alana Morrall, Director of Development and Marketing at East Cooper Community Outreach. “Thanks to their efforts and thanks to those who participated, ECCO will be able to provide more than 150 families with food this hospital season. ECCO can only serve the community with the support of the community and we are grateful to have partners like East Cooper Medical Center that allow us to help local families in need.”

In total, 2,029 pounds of food and $1962.95 was donated through the East Cooper Medical Center food drive! Contributions were received from hospital staff, offsite physician practices, the Thomasena-Stokes Senior Center and the Southeastern Spine Institute.
