EO Charleston responds to acts of violence on local businesses

Patrick Bryant, community outreach chair of EO Charleston has issued the following statement on behalf of the chapter in response to the riots that occurred in the greater Charleston area on May 31, 2020.

"As Charleston’s chapter of the world’s most influential organization for small business owners, we want every business impacted by the destruction of property in our city last night to know our members are here and available to help.

We fully support the necessary change that must occur to ensure the fair and ethical treatment of all members of our society by law enforcement and are ready to assist in that vital change. As community leaders and entrepreneurs, we especially understand the necessity to work tirelessly toward what you believe in but attacks on innocent businesses have no place in Charleston.

The leaders of EO Charleston are ready to be part of the answer and we are here to support any Charleston-area business to ensure they can survive not only the pandemic but the devastation caused by riots. We are here. We are listening. We will help. We are EO!"

EO Charleston is the only chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) in the state of South Carolina. EO is a global business network of more than 13,000 leading entrepreneurs in more than 170 chapters around the world. EO Charleston was founded by 16 Charleston-area business owners in July 2019 to enable business owners across various industries to learn from each other and grow through monthly forum meetings, chapter events, global events, leadership-development programs and executive education opportunities.

Patrick is the founder of Charleston’s Harbor Entrepreneur Center, among several other successful businesses, and serves as the chapter’s community outreach chair, ensuring EO Charleston demonstrates its commitment to the entire local entrepreneur community. Bryant has been an active small business advocate throughout the coronavirus pandemic, helping to ensure business owners understand the complexities of economic support from the federal government.
