“Celebration, Rejoicing in 180 Years of God’s Grace” is a new book of sermons celebrating God’s faithful sustenance and support of one of the South’s oldest seminaries.
The book includes twenty-one sermons written by the faculty of Erskine Theological Seminary and edited by Erskine Dean R.J. Gore Jr., D.Min, Ph.D. Each sermon addresses aspects of God’s providence.
“The Seminary has been blessed by God’s most wise and holy providence for 180 years,” explained Dr. R.J. Gore. “We would never claim we have acted in wisdom or in holiness throughout those 180 years, but God has always been faithful and has abundantly cared for this seminary and our church.”
Erskine Theological Seminary is the Seminary of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian (ARP) Church. The Seminary has trained ministers, evangelists, missionaries, Christian educators, chaplains, and lay ministers to preach and teach God’s word since 1837. The seminary welcomes students from all denominations, and through academic programs, special events, and varied ministries of the faculty, staff, and students, Erskine serves the whole Church of Jesus Christ.
“Celebration” has been released by ETS Press in association with Ambassador International, and is available for purchase on Amazon, Good Reads and at Erskine Theological Seminary. A limited number of books are available as a free gift from the Seminary by contacting Ms. Robin Broome.
From a Biblically Reformed perspective, Erskine Theological Seminary seeks to develop students’ spiritual and personal maturity, clarity about their gifts and calling, and the skills required for effective ministry. The measure of the Seminary’s ministry is the faithfulness and fruitfulness of each student. The Seminary is committed to serve as a resource for the entire Christian Church to prepare students for service from a variety of denominations and backgrounds to accomplish the Mission of God in the world.
