Speakers:
Tom Lauria retired from Avery Dennison in 1999 after a career spanning 29 years in various Operations Management positions. These positions included Director of Operations for multiple plant operations in both Europe and the United States. Offered a second career as a consultant and hired by a client, Kerr McGee Chemical LLC as VP of Global Operations, to manage the integration of two acquisitions, one in Europe. Tom earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Fullerton. After a second retirement, Tom joined SCORE as a volunteer and served as Vice Chair. After 3 years with SCORE, accepted current position as Area Manager of USC/Small Business Development Center in Charleston.

Jim Wetzel joined the Charleston Area Small Business Development Center (SBDC) as a Business Consultant in 2018 after a 40-year career in corporate Marketing and Sales where he held executive level positions managing domestic and global businesses. As a Business Consultant, Jim assists in growing existing businesses and start-ups across the spectrum of ideas and concepts. During his corporate life, Jim’s expertise was in healthcare capital equipment and medical devices. He has worked for several multi-national companies and started divisions in the US. He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration/Marketing.
