Operation Home named annual partner, receiving a $5,400 grant from Junior League of Charleston
Charleston, SC: The Junior League of Charleston (JLC) will build wheelchair ramps for Operation Home families during the 2018-2019 League year.
“Families in need of wheelchair ramps are literally trapped in their home without one,” shares Operation Home Executive Director, Miriam Langley. “We are thrilled to have JLC supporting our mission to help Tricounty families stay safe and remain in their homes.”
Operation Home builds 40 wheelchair ramps a year, and the JLC’s financial and volunteer support will help support the program. “In providing both trained volunteers and grant money, we are proud to support Operation Home’s work, and we look forward to the impact this partnership will have in our community,” states Beth Bailey, president of the JLC.
All families Operation Home serves are 50% or below the Median Federal Income, and one in every five households includes a child, 60% have a senior and nearly 90% include a person with a disability. The average monthly income for Operation Home families is $1,139.
