CHARLESTON, August 24, 2019 — Forte Jazz Lounge is Charleston’s newest venue dedicated strictly to live jazz music. The grand opening, complete with a ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on September 5 at 5:30 p.m. at 477 King Street. Joe Clarke Big Band will be headlining the night and Mayor Tecklenburg will be taking the stage to perform the first song.
The lounge features two live performances every Thursday - Saturday night. The first show begins at 7 p.m. and the second at 9:30 p.m. Three styles of seating are offered: VIP, Premium and General Admission. Tickets are available for purchase online at ForteJazzLounge.com or in person at the time of the event.
Performers for Forte Jazz Lounge are selected by owner and professional musician, Joe Clarke. Mr. Clarke has been entertaining the Charleston community for more than 30 years. As a local music teacher and musician, he has both taught and practiced his craft with students and professionals from all over the Charleston area. It has been his life’s work to create a venue for jazz artists to showcase their talents to the community.
“Charleston really needs a place to host its growing jazz culture. I want to provide a space where people can come, sit down, relax, drink and listen to some great live jazz. I want people to really enjoy themselves and the sounds these great Charleston musicians have to offer.”
