Forum Offers Chance to Hear Direct From Local Candidates in Mt. Pleasant

Want to know more about candidates running for local office in Mount Pleasant?

On Sept. 21 The League of Women Voters of the Charleston Area, the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce and the Moultrie News are sponsoring a Candidates Forum to provide voters with important information direct from the candidates themselves.

Moderating the forum will be Warren Peper, a highly respected sportscaster in the Lowcountry. A former TV anchor and newspaper writer, Peper is a graduate of Charleston Southern University.

Taking part in the Candidates Forum will help to inform your vote in the upcoming local elections.

State and local election officials are encouraging South Carolinians to register to vote and update their address. Municipal Election Day is Nov. 2.

Register online at scVOTES.gov (must be received by Sunday, Oct. 3). Download a voter registration form from scVOTES.gov. Complete and return the form to your county voter registration office. By fax or email attachment (must be received by Sunday, Oct. 3). By mail (must be postmarked by Monday, Oct. 4). Register in person at your county voter registration office. Most offices will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 1 for in-office registrations.
