FREE Parenting Workshop hosted by local Nonprofit

The public is invited to attend a FREE workshop on 'Communication Tips for Parents' on Monday, October 2 from 7-8:30pm at Church of the Holy Cross, 2520 Middle St on Sullivan’s Island.
The session is hosted through the nonprofit, Our Community Listens, whose vision & mission is to create a more caring world, one person and one community at a time.

The speakers are PCI® Certified Parent Coach Christine Donavan & Our Community Listens Professor Julie Chapman, who will be discussing:

How to give advice that your children will not reject

How to talk so that your children will listen to you.

How to get your children to talk to you.

How to stop having to nag your children to get them to do what they are supposed to do.

How to stop yelling or being yelled at.

Bring peace to your home and your relationships.

How to act as unified parents when you are not unified.

This session is designed for everyone who has or knows/works with children whether the ages are toddlers, teens, or adult children. Who would you like to improve their communication and relationship??
The key takeaways are Immediate, tangible ways to improve communication with your children.

About the speakers:
Christine Donavan is known nationally as a speaker, author, parent educator & Alumna of 'Our Community Listens - South Carolina. She is the founder of the unique Let, Lift, and Listen approach to parenting. Her experience as a public speaker, retreat leader, author, youth pastor, camp counselor, newspaper columnist, and mother of eight, including boys, girls, step-children, and four grandchildren give her perspectives on parenting in our present society.

Julie Chapman is a Professor for Our Community Listens & Chapter Leader in Charleston, SC. She leads a team of facilitators to create an environment that imparts insights and tangible ways to communicate more effectively. The free 3-day communication class has been described as life changing by many alumni. As a mother, she is passionate about improving relationships through better communication.
