The award-winning Proud Mary Theatre Company presents PARALLEL LIVES by the dynamic comedy duo Mo Gaffney SPARTANBURG, SC – In celebration of International Women’s Month, the award-winning Proud Mary Theatre Company presents PARALLEL LIVES by the dynamic comedy duo Mo Gaffney and Kathy Najimy starring Upstate actors Tiffany Stewart and Caroline Davis.

This iconic sketch comedy classic written by stars of “The Kathy & Mo Show” – Kathy Najimy (“Sister Act” and “Hocus Pocus”) and Mo Gaffney (“Absolutely Fabulous”) - is like “Saturday Night Live” on Estrogen.
Conceived with a clever feminist perspective, “Parallel Lives” shows off the talents of Stewart and Davis, who recently co-starred in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” as Nurse Ratchet and Candy, respectively, at Centre Stage in Greenville, as they assume multiple roles and genders from elderly Jewish women in a Women’s Studies class, to barflies in a Honky Tonk, and even Supreme Beings from heaven.

Stewart is a mom and veteran of New York and Upstate stages, appearing in “Beehive: The 60s Musical” with the Mill Town Players, “Red Herring” at Centre Stage, and “Blythe Spirit” at Spartanburg Little Theatre.
Davis is a Furman University Adjunct Professor and co-star of Proud Mary’s hilarious “5 Lesbians Eating A Quiche,” as well as director of Guerrilla Shakespeare Company’s “Miss Julie” last fall.
“Parallel Lives” is directed by Ellen Jones, recent director of “Doubt” at Centre Stage. Jones has directed and produced such hits as: Maureen McGovern’s “The Bengal Tiger’s Ball”, Stephen Sondheim’s “Putting It Together”, “Catholic School Girls”, “The Normal Heart”, “Parallel Lives” and “Always, Patsy Cline” to name a few.
And she has worked with Tony Award Winners Jane Alexander and Jose Ferrer, and Obie and Tony award-winning Playwright Mark Medoff.
In television and film, she began as a SAG agent and then moved into casting. Ellen also enjoys teaching actors and directors and has served as a visiting professor at Rollins College, the University of Central Florida, and her Alma Mater, Florida State University.
Sandy Staggs, Proud Mary Artistic Director, is producer of “Parallel Lives” and Alyssia Chaplin is Stage Manager.
This show contains mild mature language and content.
