On Sunday, November 4th from noon until 4:00 pm at The Ponds Farmhouse, 326 Hundred Oaks Pkwy in Summerville, The Ponds hosts a Holiday Shopping Extravaganza. More than 40 makers and local businesses are participating. The event is free to attend and attendees are asked to bring a donation of non-perishable food for the Gregg Middle School Food Pantry.
Food trucks BKeD and Charlestowne Kettle Corn will be on site, vending food during the event. David Perry will be providing entertainment throughout the day.
The event is coordinated by residents of The Ponds and sponsored by The Ponds Conservancy, a nonprofit organization. Lead organizer, and Ponds resident, Bridget Ekhaml, says of the event, “We want to put the spotlight on small, local businesses who don’t have a bricks and mortar store. We have sought out makers of distinctive artisanal products. Every year we have held the event, it’s gotten larger. This year — our 5th— we have vendors with homemade crafts, specialty food purveyors, and much more. This is a great way to get your shopping done and support our local artisans and small businesses and contribute to the Gregg Middle School Food Pantry.”
The Ponds Conservancy, a not-for-profit community organization. The Conservancy manages and guards the historic home, important archeological sites and more 1,000 acres of open space as well as a wildlife refuge, National Register of Historic Places eligible archaeological sites, walking and running trails, and parks at The Ponds community where Kolter Homes is the developer and builder.
