International bestselling author Elizabeth Gilbert will speak at C4WNEW, the Center for Women’s annual two-day conference, on Nov. 15, at Trident Technical College.

The inspiration behind this year’s C4WNEW Conference is “I don’t shine if you don’t shine.” Organizers for the conference anticipate welcoming more than 1,000 professional women, including executives, entrepreneurs, young professionals and women navigating career transition. The conference is designed to address all aspects of a woman’s road to economic and professional success by covering topics such as career development, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through workshops and panels.

Named one of Time magazine’s Top 100 Most Influential Women in the World, Gilbert is best known for her 2006 memoir, “Eat Pray Love,” which was translated into more than 30 languages and sold more than 10 million copies worldwide. In 2010, “Eat Pray Love” was made into a major motion picture starring Julia Roberts.

In the decade since “Eat Pray Love,” people around the world have sought Gilbert’s advice on how to lead a bold and inspired life, and she has dedicated herself to exploring the mysteries of courage and creativity. Out of this period of introspection she wrote The New York Times best-seller, “Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear.” In this book, Gilbert digs deep into her own generative process to share her wisdom and unique perspective on creativity.

“We are beyond thrilled to welcome such a powerful, influential woman to our annual conference,” said Lisa Dabney, executive director of the Center for Women. “We are confident that after listening to her discussion on harnessing creativity, our attendees will walk away feeling inspired and empowered to follow their passions.”

For the first time in its conference’s history, the Center for Women will also be unveiling the Me Time Marketplace. “It is our vision that the marketplace will be a lively and immersive place where attendees can interact with local and national curated brands that will empower them to focus on their personal and professional growth,” said Dabney. Attendees can find additional growth opportunities at the Mentor Power Studio, where volunteer experts in areas such as resume writing and stress management will be available to provide counsel to conference attendees.
