Join the BCLS 2022 Summer Reading Program Oceans of Possibilities for a Fun Summer!

FlyerMONCKS CORNER, S.C. – (Monday, May 23, 2022) - Berkeley County Library System (BCLS) 2022 Summer Reading Program invites preschool age to adult to participate in Summer Reading and win prizes! This year's theme for Summer Reading is Oceans of Possibilities. Online pre-registration begins May 23, and participants may start logging their learning challenges on June 6. Children's Audio-Enabled books like VOX and Wonderbooks are located in our catalog and are welcomed for Summer Reading.

Registration for Summer Reading opens on May 23 at and the programs for early literacy, children, teens, and adults run between June 6 and August 1. Summer Reading features a fantastic lineup of in-person events from South Carolina Aquarium and Tim Sonefelt's Magic Show, game boards for children, teens, and adults to earn prizes! The lineup is as follows:


June 22 - 10:30 a.m. Moncks Corner
2:30 p.m. St. Stephen

June 23 - 10:30 a.m. Cane Bay
2:30 p.m. Sangaree
5:30 p.m. Goose Creek

June 24 - 10:30 a.m. Daniel Island
2:30 p.m. Hanahan

Summer Reading also includes Give Our Books New Looks Art Contest for third-fifth grade students to design a cover or draw a scene from a favorite book at and be entered to win a prize! Deadline to submit all artwork is August 31. One entry per person.
