Kiawah River, a waterfront community and the Charleston region’s first agrihood, announced today it was awarded the Grand Award in “Urban and Community Planning” during the 2022 Builder’s Choice Design Awards by Builder Magazine.
Open to builders, architects, remodelers, and more, the Builder’s Choice Design competition accepts entries at various project scales and styles—from single rooms to entire communities. For more than three decades, the program has celebrated innovation in residential design and issues two levels of awards, grand and merit, based on criteria including design excellence, innovation, sustainability, floor plan efficiency and use of materials.
“This award from Builder Magazine is a testament to the hard work that the Kiawah River team executes every day to deliver a one-of-a-kind, first-class development that is sustainable in design to the Charleston region, and we are honored to win such a prestigious award from a leading industry publication,” said Chris Drury, broker-in-charge at Kiawah River.
Kiawah River is an idyllic waterfront master-planned community where the sea island’s natural beauty meets resort-style amenities. Centered on outdoor pursuits with approximately 20 miles of shoreline and 2,000 acres of picturesque property, including a working farm, a goat dairy and a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, Kiawah River is a maritime oasis of residential, future retail and hospitality offerings with custom and semi-custom homes featuring high-quality coastal architecture.
