It’s time to get to know Charleston.
This weekend, October 7th-9th, join “Know Us” for an immersive experience through Charleston’s interwoven history, culture, traditions, and community. From dinner on a third-generation, Black-owned Farm with Netflix-Featured Gullah Chef and historian BJ Dennis, to immersive opportunities to engage with Charleston’s Black and Brown communities, we invite you to get to know Charleston— deeply, authentically, and intentionally.
Last year, “Know Us” held its inaugural event in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They commemorated the 100th commemoration of the 1921 Race Massacre by gathering to engage, connect, and amplify Tulsa’s Black community. This year, it’s Charleston’s turn. Over 40% of the nation’s enslaved population arrived through Charleston’s ports; this is an origin story everyone should know. It’s time to learn the history, culture, and progress that’s shaped Charleston and defines it today. Know Charleston. Know Us. And in turn, know your community like never before.
Purchase your weekend access pass for $175 at https://www.knowus.community/attend. Passes include event experiences, activities, food, event transportation, and event swag.
