NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – Mount Pleasant, SC-based Landmark Enterprises will break round Wednesday on a Class A industrial build-to-suit project in North Charleston for Kalmar USA Inc. Kalmar USA Inc., a division of Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, and provides cargo-handling solutions and services to ports, terminals, distribution centers and heavy industry.
Landmark and Kalmar have designed a facility that will serve as a showroom, training facility, and customer service center for Kalmar’s North American operations. It will showcase Kalmar’s mobile equipment which includes forklift, reachstacker, and container handler products.
The new building will be in Cross County Commerce Park, an approximately 34-acre site that runs between Cross County Road and Cross Park Drive. Landmark has already completed one building in the park and is working on several other projects on additional sites. The 15,000sf building will be a pre-engineered metal warehouse clad with a combination of engineered stucco and masonry. It will include over 2,000sf of office build-out and a 70,000sf concrete yard where customers will be able to test-drive and train to use Kalmar’s equipment.
