Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) was the recipient of a 2017 Engineering Excellence Award presented by the American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina (ACEC-SC).
The Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) honors the year’s most outstanding engineering accomplishments in 12 project categories and culminates with one Palmetto Award given to the best engineering project from a South Carolina firm.
LCE was the category winner for “Building/Technology Systems” for their CyberAssess tool. CyberAssess helps Department of Defense (DoD) contractors meet new federal compliance standards set by the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) for protecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). The online tool addresses the needs of companies lacking the resources to decipher complex security requirements specified in the NIST SP 800-171. Furthermore, the tool consolidates information to identify gaps within a company’s compliance and produces an audit report for contractors to submit to the DoD before the December 2017 deadline.
