Lowcountry Oyster Festival Announces Musical Acts and Beneficiaries

CHARLESTON, S.C., January 26, 2022 – The Charleston Restaurant Foundation (CRF) is pleased to announce the Bluestone Ramblers, a traditional bluegrass ensemble based in Charleston, and Andrew Beam, a country music artist from North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, as this year’s entertainment for the 38th annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival, happening Feb. 6, 2022 at Boone Hall Plantation.

“We are thrilled to be hosting the Lowcountry Oyster Festival yet again and anticipate that this year will be better than ever, with excellent musical acts, elevated food offerings and more surprises in store,” shares Charleston Restaurant Foundation President, Jonathan Kish. “The Charleston Restaurant Foundation is looking forward to welcoming friends, family, visitors and locals to this cherished event.”

Featuring over 60,000 pounds of oysters, highlights of this event include the legendary oyster shucking and oyster eating contests, wine and beer and a variety of food options from local restaurants and food trucks. Kids can enjoy the elevated Pluff-a-Pallooza Children’s Area, offering activities such as bubble therapy, a climbing wall, a “noisy oyster percussion” play area, cookie decorating with “pluff-mudd” frosting, sweetgrass basket weaving, egg toss, juggling with Deena-Jungleena, stilt performers and much more.

The Lowcountry Oyster Festival is a charity fundraiser. This year’s beneficiaries include the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, Ronald McDonald House of Charleston, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Coastal Conservation Association, College of Charleston, The Culinary Institute of Charleston and Toad Fish.
