The Charleston March of Dimes 20th Annual Signature Chefs Auction, presented by Atlas Technologies, will be held on November 14th at Charleston Gaillard Center. The Signature Chefs Auction is a high profile black-tie gala that pays tribute to the culinary excellence of Charleston’s most prominent chefs, while raising money to improve the health of all moms and babies. The night of you will enjoy the chance to taste the Chefs' creations while participating in our Platinum Ticket raffle and Silent Auction, before taking your seats for the Live Auction and Fund the Mission. All of this so you can be a part of supporting our groundbreaking mission of healthy moms, strong babies.
Funds raised by Signature Chefs Auction help support prenatal wellness programs, research grants, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) family support programs and advocacy efforts for moms and babies. Today, 1 in every 10 U.S. infants is born premature, including 6,396 in the state of South Carolina. The United States is in the midst of a maternal and child health crisis, with more than 380,000 babies born prematurely each year, as well as more than 50,000 women experiencing life-threatening complications as a result of pregnancy and childbirth. March of Dimes is working in communities across the country to reduce the rising rates of premature birth, as well as maternal mortality and morbidity, supporting women before, during and after pregnancy to ensure all moms and babies are healthy.
Honest stories of pregnancy, parenting and loss are too often left unshared. To fill this void, March of Dimes launched #UnspokenStories, a supportive community that gives voice to all experiences around these issues. This initiative aims to provide women, men and families a platform to connect and speak honestly. For more information and to share your story, please visit UnspokenStories.org.
