The Mason Prep Foundation is excited to welcome new Executive Director, Andy Brubaker. Andy joins the Foundation with 18 years in the fields of nonprofit management and fundraising, most recently holding the position of Director of Development at The Heritage School in Newnan, GA. Prior to that, he served as Executive Director of the American Red Cross of Southwest Georgia and as a Director of Development and then Vice President for Advancement at Andrew College. His professional tenure also includes stints with LaGrange College and the Boy Scouts of America.
Andy’s connection to the Charleston area began with childhood visits to a great aunt who lived on the Ashley River and was the proprietor of The Victorian House in Summerville. After completing his bachelor’s degree, he and his wife Melissa moved to Charleston briefly and lived along Colonial Lake. “When we moved from Charleston in 2002, we promised ourselves we’d return. I’m thrilled to return to the Lowcountry and to serve the Mason Prep Foundation.”
During the interview process, Andy shared a philosophy for advancement that states philanthropy is the sharing of values and beliefs between the donor and the school’s mission. Beginning his tenure as the Executive Director, Andy shared his passions for fundraising and the Mason Prep Community: “Mason Prep has a tremendous reputation for educational excellence and I’m excited to guide the interests of donors in support of Mason Prep’s transformational mission.”
